Too hot for Facebook

Hey everyone, its Ethan Reynolds.

Recently I posted a picture on my personal Facebook page of my friend Brandon from Los Angeles. He was super excited to finally get his Xwear in the mail and put it on immediately to snap a picture. I posted the picture to share his happiness with everyone. Well...Facebook found it TOO SEXY. AGAIN!

Facebook seems to think that when you wear Xwear, you are TOO SEXY. They think that wearing Xwear is like wearing nothing at all. After all, their terms of use clearly say that the photos that are instantly deleted are the ones that contain nudity.

So is Facebook saying that wearing Xwear is so sexy that its like wearing nothing at all????

"I enjoy wearing Xwear, first, because they're very sexy and second, they're very comfortable. I've been working on my body for a long time, since high school, to get to where I am at now. I started because when I entered high school, I was a skinny boy, under 100lbs and had very lousy strength. I decided to work out to get bigger and stronger. I didn't really imagine that I would achieve the body that I have now, so as a result, I've became a sort of exhibitionist and love to show off my achievement. Xwear is very nicely cut to show off the male body, so with them I can enjoy showing off the results of my dedication in fitness and inspiring others to dedicate themselves into fitness as well. While it provides good cover for my butt, it also comforms to it very well to show its shape. You can also see the muscle definition on the front where the lower abs separates from the hip above the legs, y'know, the diagonal lines that seemingly point to the goods. It shows enough to be sexy, but not too much that it's slutty. They're also very comfortable, especially compared to other swimwear. The fabric feels very nice against the skin, it doesn't ride up and it's loose while providing support in the front. Having the front a little loose rather than tight is also something I really like because I'm a boxers guy. Swimwear I can enjoy wearing comfortably while being able to show off my body. Hooray for Xwear! :-)".

3 weeks, 5 emails and still no response from Facebook!

So it's been 3 weeks since we were abruptly told by Facebook that "Your Page "XWear" has been removed for violating our Terms of Use."

So we contacted them via the website as well as 5 direct emails, and not even a single reply to advise why this has happened.

The reason they supplied in the original email was due to our page being "hateful, threatening, or obscene."

Wonder if we will ever find out the real reason why Facebook cancelled our page?

Hello everyone...it's Ethan Reynolds

I wanted to take a moment and clear my mind for a little bit. Yesterday I was hit with some news that really set me off. But if I were to just blurt it out at this moment, you probably wouldn't get why this upset me so much. So will you indulge me for a little bit as I give you a little background? If I explain myself maybe you will understand why I am ready to start making signs and organizing sit-ins.

Many of you probably know who I am from my previous work as an underwear model. It was a time in my life with lots of ups and downs. But I enjoyed my time as a brand spokesmodel for one reason. I was able to go out into the gay community and meet other people. It made me feel connected and I was on track to achieve some of my other goals of helping others. However, as many know, my plans were thrown off track.

After that period in my life, I continued modelling, did some acting, and travelled the world for different opportunities. But I always had an urge to finish some of my earlier goals. Other underwear companies have approached me to work with them, but they never matched up with what I expected. I will even admit that I still have one company I would LOVE to wear their underwear. But that relationship hasn't started.

Now some of you may be thinking I take this part of modeling too serious. I disagree. I feel that if a company wants me to be a spokesmodel for their brand, then I should believe in what I say. If I tell you that they are the best company out there, then they need to meet what I feel makes a great company. If I tell you that I love wearing them, then I really should love wearing them. And if a company wants me to solicit the gay community, well then they BETTER LOVE the gay community and support the improvement of the community. Is that too much to ask for?

Well that brings me to my relationship with Xwear. Xwear approached me a little while back and asked if I would consider working with them. I wanted to feel them out and find out if they were the type of relationship I wanted to promote. The funny thing is that I already was familiar with their product because they were my favourite swimwear maker. I had never worn something as comfortable. But I didn't know much about them. As we got to know each other I learned of their beliefs, their thoughts, and the ideas behind their designs.

During one conversation I was ranting about the fight for gay marriage in the United States. I told them that the one big thing that bothered me about the Prop 8 battle in California was the financial support for the campaign. I personally avoid giving my money to companies that support hatred or prejudice against me. And I was VERY disappointed with certain so called gay friendly companies that didn't support the community either. So I explained how sensitive I am about helping companies market to the gay community if they are not willing to be a supporter of that same community. Well, needless to say I was VERY happy to hear Xwear's thoughts on this subject and it reminded me how much I would love to spend some time down under.

So yes....even though I am sure many of you have already figured it out.... I AM a spokesmodel for Xwear and I am proud to say that. Which brings me to what's going on and why I am so fired up.

Part of my deal with Xwear is that I told them I wanted to work with more models. Modelling was something that helped change the direction of my life. So I wanted to make sure that others were given opportunities as well. When I heard of Xwear's plans for global distribution, I knew I couldn't possibly do this on my own. That's when we came up with the plan for DARE TO BARE. This contest will help us find some hot models!

I have been neck deep in the efforts to promote the contest and reach out to all of my friends to tell them about the opportunity. Its been lot of fun helping others and getting people started before the big launch. You may be surprised of all the work that goes into launching a campaign. But nothing compares to my surprise when I found out a portion of our work efforts had disappeared!

We have been busy building up the Facebook page for Xwear and making sure people knew it existed. We have been giving out free swimwear, posting pictures, doing polls, and just having a great time. Everything was going great and we had enough people on the page to make the Dare to Bare contest a lot of fun. But when I went to look at it yesterday.....it was gone. Disappeared.

I didn't know what to think at first. Did something happen with Xwear? Did I type in the address wrong? So I reached out to Xwear to find out what was up. They have been working around the clock coming up with the new designs and processing orders. The reaction told me everything I needed to know. They didn't do anything so it wasn't on our side. But when they checked their email...we found out what happened. Facebook deleted the page. All the work and ways to connect with friends was gone with just the push of the button.

Now I know some people out there would say.."that's life", or "shit happens". But I'm not one of those type of people. I always want to know why. And I always think things should be fair or just. So I asked Xwear to push the issue with Facebook. But all we have right now is a form letter that says the profile was too sexual explicit. Swimwear. Sexual Explicit. Now granted, I do know that Xwear is the sexiest swimwear out there. But "explicit". They are not jock straps or g-strings. There are still Facebook pages like that. Just like there are pages on there for women barely covering themselves. So that makes me wonder why the Xwear page was singled out. Could it be something else?

A month ago Facebook deleted a picture of two guys kissing. The resulting uproar caused them to admit they made a mistake. Did Facebook decide Xwear was too "sexual explicit" because they had pictures of guys in swimwear or because they have gay guys in swimwear? Because if they were deleting profiles because of swimwear shots.... well... Facebook is going to lose A LOT of profiles. So that's why I am definitely thinking there was more to this story. And I'm mad.

But when I get mad or fired up, my mind starts racing. It's time to launch the Dare to Bare challenge officially. With or without Facebook it will still be a lot of fun. With my mind racing though, I am going to figure out ways to have fun AND fight an injustice. So stay tuned. Keep checking out this blog. The fun is just about to begin. I am thinking it's time to REALLY DARE to BARE the Xwear!!!
